Potamia

AREA

Information

Potamia is the old name of Tsinarlou, which means Plane Tree Land, many waters, many plane trees. The area is crossed by the Gruviani stream and the village by small streams. It is built at the foot of Mavrovouni and in addition to the plane tree forest, there is also a chestnut forest. Before entering the village, we will encounter the beautiful stone bridge of Doctor Alamanos, built in 1858, and the location “Vryses” which is worth stopping at.

A very interesting effort by the women’s association is also the Folklore Museum, which hosts objects and tools of village life in a beautifully landscaped space.

The square and the nature of the village will surprise us, we can quench our thirst in the square’s cafe under the trees and if we get hungry, we will eat amazing local meats in the taverns.
